Further south is where the adventure begins with dam-dropping down the Waingongoro River, climbing Mt. Taranaki’s famous peak and downhill mountain biking. You’ll also find an abundance of fishing, hiking and golf in this region.  The rich cultural city of Whanganui is filled with heritage and boasts New Zealands most picturesque Main Street with tree lined streets and flowering hanging baskets.  Rich also with a vibrant art scene and bordered by the Whanganui  River a cruise on the P.S. Waimarie paddle steamer completes a perfect holiday in this amazing part of New Zealand.
