Northland Holiday Parks

Area Information

It’s all about kicking back and relaxing here.  Travel the 800km of the Twin Coast Discovery Highway and discover a lost word of unspoiled beaches, an array of water activities, massive ancient Kauri trees and breathtaking scenery.  Among the many historical sites is Russell, the first New Zealand town and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Visitors from all over the world also come for the water sports;  boating, fishing, swimming with dolphins, diving and just enjoying the stunning views.  Really explore Northland by getting out on the vast range of walking and biking tracks.  Along the way hug an ancient Kauri tree and marvel in the 360 degree views. Visit the far north of Cape Reinga and 90 Mile Beach for a thrilling day of beauty, sliding down sand dunes and driving on 40km of pristine beach.

The east coast is more rugged, and is adorned with bays and peninsulas. Several large natural harbours are found on this coast, from Parengarenga close to the region's northern tip, past the famous Bay of Islands down to Whangarei Harbour, on the shores of which is situated the region's largest population centre. Numerous islands dot this coast, notably the Cavalli Islands, the Hen and Chickens Islands, Aorangaia Island and the Poor Knights Islands.
