To say that mountain biking and road cycling in New Zealand is epic is an understatement
People come from all over the world and even move here from faraway places to take in the scenic roads and miles of trails. There is no better way to experience the immense beauty of New Zealand, as well as the friendly culture, than from the saddle of a bike.
Biking in New Zealand can take you from the balmy subtropical climate of Northland to the snow capped mountains of the Southern Alps. From the rugged ocean to the native bush, a holiday featuring cycling is like no other.
In 2009 the New Zealand Government and the Green Party partnered to create The New Zealand Cycle Trail. Government and local communities have been feverishly working on these “Great Rides” to showcase predominantly off-road trails in amazing parts of New Zealand featuring the best landscapes, views, culture and history.
Base yourself at a Kiwi Holiday Park for some of these great rides. Many of our parks have places to clean your bikes, plenty of space, can recommend local trails and even places to store your bikes if needed.
