This wine and foodie region of the North Island boasts a gorgeous Mediterranean climate and a solid holiday reputation. The art deco designed city of Napier emits real charm and sophistication. Home to the world’s largest Gannet Colony and over 70 wineries this region is rich in taste, adventure and beauty.

Beautiful beaches and New Zealand sunshine make for many fun activities in the region beyond the obvious wine and food tours. The main city of Napier was earthquake ravaged in 1931 with much of the city destroyed and rebuilt in art deco style giving it the charm and beauty it has today. A short distance is Hastings and the luxury lodge and internationally renowned golf course, Cape Kidnappers. Also found here are the famous Gannet Colonies, a must do and an adventure by bus on the farm or tractor on the beach.
Just behind Havlock North is Te Mata Peak, rich is Maori history and providing panoramic views of Hawke’s Bay and beyond. The region is packed with outdoor activity from cruising one of the many bike trails to jumping into one of the many abundant water sports such as fishing, swimming, boating or surfing.
