Cadbury World
The most sinful $20 you will ever spend is your admission into Cadbury World. The trip starts at the door of the Visitor Centre with the immediate smell of the sweet chocolate decadence. Then a guide takes you on the full factory tour where you see the full production of the little cocoa bean turn into all sorts of yummy Cadbury products. The purple silo was a highlight for me as tons of chocolate goodness fell like a waterfall in front of me.
I couldn’t wait to go to the tasting room which left me completely satisfied and giving me a chance to taste things I had never before. We then headed to the vintage trucks where we got some great photos to share with friends and family.
Time to take some chocolate home so it’s back to the Visitor Centre which has plenty to choose from as well as some cool displays, videos and history about chocolate making and Cadbury.
During Christmas they open Santa Grotto where you can visit Santa (no wonder he is so plump) and see some amazing light display and of course shop for the best presents.
In July Cadbury and the city of Dunedin hold the Dunedin Cadbury Chocolate Carnival which showcases chocolate themed events throughout the city. Proceeds from the events go to charities throughout Otago.
