Explanation of Symbols

These descriptions of accommodation types are designed to give a brief outline of the accommodation offered.
All properties provide communal kitchens, toilets, showers and laundries. For descriptions of these facilities, and other facilities provided by holiday parks, click here.

HOLIDAY PARK MOTEL
These on-site units sleep between 2-8 people. They are self-contained units including own shower and toilet facilities, as well as kitchen facilities and utensils, TV, and radio. Or, a similar unit with tea/coffee-making facilities only. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided to guests on arrival.

Many motel units have two separate bedrooms or sleeping areas, but not in all cases. It is common for motels to have extra beds, (such as divans), in the living area. All bedding and towels is included. Motel units are serviced daily.



HOLIDAY PARK TOURIST FLAT
These units have beds or bunks, and can sleep betweem 2-8 people. They include own shower and toilet facilities, as well as full kitchen facilities and utensils, and television. If the unit sleeps three or more people, one bedroom will be separate.

Many units have two separate bedrooms or sleeping areas. It is common for tourist flats to have extra beds, (such as divans), in the living area. Tourist flats are non-serviced units.
Tourist flats are by far the most popular pre-booked accommodation.



HOLIDAY PARK EN-SUITE CABIN
These units sleep between 2-6 people The units are similar to a Tourist Cabin, with own shower and toilet facilities. They do not have cooking facilities, but most will have tea and coffee making provision. Guests supply own bed-linen, blankets and towels. Guests use the park’s communal kitchen facilities. Linen available for hire.



HOLIDAY PARK KITCHEN CABIN
These units sleep 2-6 people Some cabins may be of two rooms, with the bedroom being separate from living area. Cabin has hot and cold water, cooking facilities and utensils, and possibly a refrigerator. Guests normally supply own bed-linen, blankets and towels. Guests use the park's communal showers and toilets.



STANDARD CABIN
A basic cabin of one room, sleeping 2-6 people. A cabin contains either beds or bunks with mattresses and pillows. Guests supply own bed-linen, blankets and towels. Guests use the park’s communal kitchen, shower and toilet facilities.



ON-SITE CARAVAN
Caravan-type sleeping generally 2-4 adults. On a powered site, and equipped with cooking facilities and equipment. Guests usually supply own bed-linen, blankets and towels. Guests use the park’s communal shower and toilet facilities.



POWERED SITES
Powered sites have connections for campervans and caravans. Sites generally are on grass.
Some parks have special provision for campervans including parking on concrete or paved hardstands.



NON-POWERED SITES
Sites for tents, caravans and campervans, without power. Usually, the sites are on grass.



'BACKPACKER-STYLE' HOSTELS AND LODGES
These lodges provide basic backpacker-style accommodation, and are particularly suitable for groups. The number shown under the symbol for each park listing is the number of beds available in this type of accommodation.
Individual rooms vary, from bunk-rooms to bedrooms with en-suite facilities. Mattresses and pillows are provided, with guests supplying own bed-linen, blankets and towels. Guests use the communal shower and toilet facilities, usually in the same building, or nearby.
Hostels and lodges are often equipped with kitchen, dining room and other facilities. Meals may be available by arrangement.



BEDS AVAILABLE
This symbol indicates that accommodation is available other than tent or powered sites. The number shown is the total number of persons who can be accommodated



CONFERENCE FACILITIES
Meeting rooms or conference facilities are available. Check with the park operator for further information as to rooms and facilities provided.



RESTAURANT
A restaurant is on the premises or close nearby.



DISABLED ACCESS
Park operators who include this international symbol of access in their listing, provide a varying range of facilities for disabled.
It is suggested that you confirm with individual parks that the facilities offered are able to cater for your needs prior to confirming a reservation. Or, if booking through the Central Reservations Service, please advise your requirements in detail and the Central Office will make the checks for you.



DUMP STATION
Dump point for campervan or caravan waste and sewage. Some parks may make a charge for this service if the user is not a guest at the park.
